Sayulita Turtle Camp's mission is to perform beach patrolling to rescue sea turtle nests and to educate locals and visitors on how to protect our turtles from poaching, and other threats. We invest a lot of time and energy into initiatives that teach young local kids the value of protecting sea turtles and the environment.
Our Story
Sayulita Turtle Camp was founded in 2007 as a community-led organization led by marine biologist Alejandra Aguirre. The organization joined the Red Tortuguera A.C. in 2013, which aided in obtaining all of the necessary permits to begin work on an even more effective programme that can better protect turtle eggs and keep nest poachers at bay. The organization leads patrol teams along Sayulita and Malpasos beaches at night and mornings to ensure turtles can nest in peace.
Donations are what keep Sayulita Turtle Camp running. Help us keep doing what we're doing.
